To say that this year has been an exciting one for us, is somewhat of an understatement. We’ve run our first Summer Market, our first Garden Party, we built an amazing braai (South African for BBQ) and outdoor pizza oven and we’ve wined and dined and hosted so many incredible guests, functions and happy memories.

But what’s been especially special has been the amount of support that we have received from those who have made Beaminster, and its surrounds, their home, and those who have visited in passing.

So, how wonderful to hear that The Ollerod has been nominated for not one, but 2 fantastic Trencherman’s Awards for 2020, and selected as finalist for one of these, in the Best Hotel category.

What are the Trencherman’s Awards?

The awards is another delight following the success of the exclusive Trencherman’s Guide – an annual guide published that celebrates ‘exquisite, creative cooking and pitch perfect service’.  The Awards have become the one of the SW’s most prestigious culinary recognitions where, traditionally, readers have voted for their favourite restaurant, hotel, pub, chef and more.

This year, however, they’re doing things differently – and upping the ante. “For over five years, the Trencherman’s Awards have been the South West’s most prestigious dining accolades. Whereas in previous years both rounds of voting have been decided by tens of thousands of reader’s votes, this year we handed over control of the first round to our Trencherman’s members and chefs.“

Beaminster’s on The Hospitality Map

This year, Beaminster is showing just what an amazing place it truly is with both The Ollerod as well as Brassica Restaurant taking up their rightful place as finalists in the Awards. We share the stage with some fantastic other establishments in and around the South West and we are excited to contribute to an even bigger reason to take the time, visit and explore the abundance that this incredible region has to offer.
