If you’ve visited The Ollerod before, you would have no doubt spotted the amazing works of art on the walls. From the bar to the restaurant, the terrace, the bedrooms and even the conservatory, we love to show off some of Dorset’s finest art, and we’ve been lucky to be home to some fantastic collections since we took over the keys.

And we don’t plan on breaking with tradition anytime soon.

Which is why this summer, we’re handing over the picture rails as we are hosting 3 incredible exhibitions.

The 2 Valleys Art Circle

The 2 Valleys Art Circle, our own Beaminster / Bridport collaboration made up of 4 local artists, starts off in June with an Exhibition Opening Night on Wednesday 26th.

A collaboration rooted in a desire to create together, Mirella Bandini, ceramicist, Moira Baumbach, printmaker, Allan Green, painter, and Suzy Moger, abstract artist, have joined forces and present a truly unique exhibition this Summer.

Sukie Woodhouse

Sukie Woodhouse follows with her Wave Art Exhibiton. Sukie creates 3-D pieces using household plastic waste, and plastic / ghost gear found on beaches and transforms them exceptional visual arts. Sukie is an acclaimed scenic artist, muralist and designer with some of her international work currently on display in the Netherlands.

“I feel compelled to draw attention to the rapid pollution of the world’s oceans and deaths of many millions of sea creatures. I hope to bring the viewer up short. We are polluting that which is inspiring and beautiful.

Wanderlust

Last, but certainly not least, is the Art Can exhibition, titled Wanderlust, which will be on show from 3rd August to the 28th September. A truly befitting exhibition for travellers and visitors who enjoy being transported to new places through incredible artistic creations.

Make this Summer becomes the one that enables you to explore new worlds. Kickstart that by popping in for a coffee, a light snack, or a luxurious dinner while browsing the incredible artistic talent that we will be taking residence over the course of the next few months.
